In Britain Dr. Kumar was a Registrar in the Department of Pediatrics, Ninewells Hospital and Medical School, in Dundee, Scotland, was the Registrar in Pediatrics, and a Wholetime Clinical Assistant (Pediatrics) both at Queens Park Hospital in Blackburn, Lancashire, England. In the United States, Dr. Kumar was the Director of the Department of Pediatrics at Ellis Hospital for twenty-five years.
Dr. Kumar received his M.D. in Pediatrics from Darbhanga Medical College in Bihar, India, his MBBS, Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery, from Bihar University, his MRCP, Ire. in 1979, his MRCP U.K, and is American Board Certified in Pediatrics. He received his Postgraduate training in Pediatrics, and registered for M.D., at Darbhanga Medical College Hospital from 1968-1971, was a Resident Pediatrician (Junior Teaching Post in Pediatrics), at Patna Medical College Hospital, in Bihar, India from 1971-1975.
Dr. Kumar is a FRCP, is a Diplomate of The American Board of Pediatrics, and a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Cardiology (FAAC). He was recognized as America’s Top Pediatrician, in 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2014, and has had several articles published in journals and presented results of his work on Observations on Liver Biopsy in cases of Childhood Tuberculosis at the International Congress of Pediatrics in 1974 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
